How many traps will I need?

If you’re looking to catch a rat at home, you should only need one trap! Unlike a traditional snap trap, the Smart trap will attract pests from up to a hectare away. 

If you’re trapping across a large property or establishing a network our best practice recommendation is to use two A24 traps per hectare. Read our guide, full of practical advice on how to establish a trapping network.  

Scientific trials carried out by New Zealand's Department of Conservation have repeatedly demonstrated that Goodnature trap networks are highly effective and efficient in recovering native species populations because they provide constant control. While you may not be protecting hundreds of hectares of bush, having networks at home, on the farm or at work will enhance your success.
